Following steps are involved in a Biotech FUE Hair Transplant surgery:
Step 1 – The surgeon will start with shaving and marking the donor area. Your hairline will also be designed before starting the surgery.
Step 2 – After marking the donor area, local anesthesia is administered to make the graft extraction process virtually painless.
Step 3 – Once the donor area has been numbed, the surgeon proceeds to follicular unit extraction phase. Using the automated punch tool the surgeon keeps on extracting the follicles at the fastest possible speed and one of the support staff members collects these grafts and is stored carefully to maintain viability.
Step 4 – After a short lunch break the surgeon resumes the surgery by administering local anesthesia to the recipient area. This is to make site preparation and transplantation phase painless.
Step 5 – The surgeon then makes tiny incisions at the recipient area, keeping in mind your aesthetic goals and the direction of your existing hair.
Step 6 – Once done with site preparation, the surgeon carefully inserts the extracted grafts into these tiny incisions to complete the surgery.

FUT Or Follicular Unit Transplant
FUT Or Follicular Unit Transplant is also known as Strip Surgery. This Is one of the most commonly used procedures for Hair transplant and is the ideal choice for people who have a large area that has gone bald. In this procedure, the hair bearing skin of the scalp from the back of the head is removed by using a scalpel and the gap is then sutured together. The strip then gets divided in grafts consisting of one or two follicles and then implanted in the same way as FUE.

Hair Transplant Steps
Generally, on the day of surgery, you are asked to come a few hours before the scheduled time of surgery. This time will allow the staff to guide you through all that is planned for the day and also complete the requisite paper work which includes the Informed consent, pre- transplant photography , vital signs check , etc. This time also allows you to talk to your surgeon for any other doubt solving. Post trimming, the surgeon demarcates the area in consensus to that discussed in prior consultations which includes marking of the exact hairline to be designed which are final.
Local Anaesthesia
You will be administered local anesthesia and sedation if required to ensure that you are comfortable through out the procedure without any discomfort. In many cases, anesthetic gel with high frequesncy vibrations are used to reduce the discomfort caused by the microinjections. Rest assured the procedure is made virtually pain free.
Donor Tissue in FUT
The doctor will make a long horizontal incision to remove the strip of the scalp with hair grafts from the back of your scalp, which will be used for your hair transplant. The exact location of the donor is chosen very carefully because this area has to be the area of maximum hair density to ensure long term stability of the transplanted hair.
Storage Of Donor tissue & closure of donor area
As soon as the donor strip of hair is removed it is place in cold physiological solution to ensure better viability of the donor grafts.
The donor area edges are approximated, closed with sutures and secured with sterile dressing.
Slivering & Dissection
The harvested strip is now divided into single layer of hair follicular units called the slivers, each of which is trimmed for any extra tissue. The grafts are then separated individually which will finally be implanted in the bald area.
Creation Of The Recipient Sites – FUE & FUT
The creation of the recipient site has to be done with precision because this will decide the complete look. Fine blades or needles are used to create the site and then the angle of the hair is decided. A good surgeon will always ensure that the sites are created in a way that the final look is completely natural.
Implantation & End Of Surgery – FUE & FUT
After the sites have been created the grafts will be implanted into the sites created by the surgeon.
The post operative medication and care is then explained along with a copy of the same. the donor area is dressed with a sterile dressing and you may wear a soft cap for further protection.
Recovery Process
Most patients resume their normal activity in a day or two.
Tiny crusts will form where the transplanted hair have been place and usually shed over 10 to 15 days. The small hair in the newly transplanted grafts normally shed within 2 to 4 weeks after the procedure and permanent hair growth begins in 8 to 12 weeks.
You should expect significant cosmetic hair growth within 12 months and complete growth within 18 months.
